In my line of work, to avoid such confusion, we use the dd/mmm/yyyy format. I.e. 26 Jan 2026
That way, no-one should missunderstand.

I'm a Brit, when I was working I had to deal with international partners. To avoid ALL such instances regardless of which continent anyone came from I defaulted to ALWAYS using three letter abbreviation for the month,
In an international world, assuming everyone reads dates the same way as you is crass and stupid.
26 Jan 2025 or Jan 26 2025 or 2025 Jan 26 are ALL going to be read the same way by 99.999% of people (there's always one idiot)
Stop using numbers to denote months.. THAT'S THE PROBLEM

I don't think this is meme worthy, it's a simple mistake. The woman didn't even make a scene.

Definitely happens in the other direction too. American dates seen all over the world causes me to make mistakes weekly.

This has to be a bot because most of us know international date formats.

When the day and the month can be both month and date, it can be confusing to anyone. I don't understand why, when dates are being printed on whatever, that they replace the number of the month with the 3 letter abbreviation. MAR instead of 03, as an example.
Everyone is for diversity until it means they can make fun of someone they feel superior towards.

To be fair, Air Canada absolutely would serve expired food if they thought they would get away with it.

america and the world both get the date format wrong. the elite format is YYYY.MM.DD
this avoids all confusion and allows files stored on a computer to sort chronologically by name

Canadians write the dates the same way as Americans, I think. Not sure what's going on here.

In Canada government documents use this format YYYY-MM-DD
